Book Recommendation ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ™ƒ

Hello guys, I hope you are having a good and prosperous morning. I am here today looking for book recommendations. I have grown a bit tired of my selection and genre to be honest. I usually read self help books and any other How to ones. A few of the ones I have read are: The way of a Superior Man, The Four Agreements, BE YOU Unapologetically, Anything on Feminine /Dark Feminine Energy, Social skills for Overthinkers, Renaissance Woman, and my Naked parts (this is one about celibacy).....I started that journey 13 months ago.......

Hi

Are you looking for book suggestions outside of self help? Fiction? Non fiction?

The Four Agreements is one of my favorites. I read it three times so far.

What about the Body Keeps the Score?

Any genre would be great at this point.....even if you have more from self. Help. I just need a few titles. Hmmmm the body keeps the score sound interesting. Do you know if it's available on Kindle. That is where I read most of my books. Though, I could get paperbacks and take them to work with me. I work at a prison at night and most of the time I'm bored out of my miiiiind!!!!

I could make a giant list. You may be sorry your asked :)

I do believe you can get The Body Keeps the Score on kindle. I'm not sure if PTSD is part of your diagnosis. I should have mentioned the subject.

Jodi Picoult.... last one I read was Small Great Things

Sarah Denzil ... Housemaid Series. I've read part 1 and 2 so far

Patric Gagne ... Sociopath, a memoir

Charlie Donlea.... Don't believe it

Here is a few I just took off my kindle that I have read.

Thank you soooo much I am going to read each eventually but I will start with the Body keeps the score.....hopefully by Next Monday. I'm reading the joy of imperfection now but should be finished in a couple of days. I have to record my highlights into my journal also so I'm thinking that day would be good to start a new one. I don't have a Ptsd diagnosis but I have read books on that topic because my partner suffers from it.

I just thought of another

Kristen Hannah... The Women

Happy Reading

:)

Well, if you're interested in another self-help book, I just got interested in The Body Is Not an Apology. It seems to be on Kindle.

One of my favorite books is an illustrated children's story: Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures.

I just put up a post with a video by the woman who wrote The Body Is Not an Apology. Here:

Hi Shnookie, I saw your comment and remembered the video of Fiddler we shared recently. It I recalled one of my favorite collections of short stories. Tales of Sholom Aleichem.

Have you read them? Wonderful!

No. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion. Unfortunately, Iโ€™m in a rough patch right now and donโ€™t have the patience to read books. But Iโ€™m an Ashkenazi - Eastern European Jewish descend. My relatives came from places like Anatevka - shtetl - small village in Fiddler on the Roof. I think I read that they are remaking a new version of Fiddler on the Roof. And with the Anti-Semitism and poverty, 4 million Jews immigrated to the U.S. between 1880-1920. .

Your knowledge of the history of your people is impressive. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

I wish I had a way to know what my family went through before they came here.

My grandparents on both sides were immigrants. Dad's side left Ireland, Mom's, Lebanon. No one ever spoke of why they left, or what they left behind.

I do know this: both my grandmothers were amazingly strong women. Remember Rosie the Riveter? (I am woman hear me roar!) ha! Ya, like that. Makes me laugh to think I've got that in me.

You do too! Wow. Amazing, huh?

Thank you ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

Seeing that this is a depression and anxiety forum, try "Feeling Great" by Dr. David D. Burns.

Iโ€™m a therapist and appreciated the first half of Body Keeps the score. The second half is somewhat complicated dealing with family system theory. Itโ€™s well worth a half read or if you can follow the second good enough. Enjoy

A New Earth and Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle was a game changer. It helped me distance from my own toddler mind.

for self help i recommend set boundaries and find peace.

Other books, I have been loving Freida McFadden books. They are thriller books. My favorites so far are housemaid 1 (3 book series) and the co worker. I have read several this year. Another really good is Another Dance by Angela Youngers! Fantastic story of bouncing back after the unpredictable things life can throw at you.

If you like memoirs or the friends tv show, Matthew Perry book is good, but kind of sad.

Wooow, so many books! These should keep Me busy for a while. I'm going to come back here to report my opinions of some of the books you guys recommended......Thanks alot๐Ÿฅฐ

If you're looking for fiction, I could recommend some authors, depending on what you're looking for. If you like sci-fi, then perhaps you could check out Psiarch: Rising: The Psiarch-Rising-Chronicles-Book-One-ebook by PHV. Another sci-fi author I'd recommend is J.S. Frankel. If you're into short horror stories, I'd recommend Joshua Scribner. If you'd be interested in books about werewolves, then, I'd recommend books by Gregory Alexander Sharp. He also has a few short stories. If you're into "steamy" stories, then you might consider Saddletramp1956. Tristian Wallace (W. Salvage) has a few short story collections. Anthony Di Angelo and MTHart write horror stories and Raelle Logan writes pirate stories. I also write fiction stories, most of them being fantasy, some mystery or suspense. I also have a few holiday themed stories. Some are also on Draft2Digital and Barnes & Noble. Usually, I'll run a discount for mine during the holidays. Also, there's J.G. MacLeod. If you'd ever be interested in stories/poems on YouTube, then may I recommend Vincent Van Zanvoort? There's also a short story both on YouTube and Rumble called The Dreadful Journey. I hope this helps some in your search for stories and books to read.

Wooow that's a great list.......sci-fi might be a good place to go....it would be new! Unless, the books I have read about Aliens mates fit that category. I have been reading shifter books since like 2019 and I love them all....my favorite are wolves though. It's something about that Alpha I love......Now I have to transfer these titles to my journal and start reading ....Thanks so much for your reply ๐Ÿฅฐ

No problem! I'm always glad to help whenever I can. There's some great sci-fi stories out there. Also, Gregory has two werewolf books IL Lupo and ILupo 2.0. The Trapdoor, which is a short story is his newest story.

The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet is one of my favorites. I love to read mysteries, and love stories .๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
