PEOPLE HURT
There is a depth to hurt, a lot of people understand.
I walk on the road when my body is broken.
There is a feeling of complete overwhelm,
When your heart is stabbed, yet you don't understand why?
Its late summer and life is terribly confusing,
Old life getting ready for the autumn then winter hue.
Songbirds chirping in the distant garden of my life.
Weary bones, plodding through life's rich tapestry.
I walk a lot these days in a circular manner.
It doesn't hurt, it sets me free from the constant dull sphere.
It is difficult to work due to the retirement, so mixed feelings all round.
Socializing I maintain yet would rather be alone now.
Television is so depressing; I turn off the news
So, I walk, and I read, and I write. I am rereading books too.
I need to be reminded of who I once was. Before the beating!
I am proud of my girl, I hear my father saying in my ears.
Oh my books, my writing – this and walking in nature,
I can feel myself reemerging. Nature gives such lovely lessons.
Death is a source of nourishment; and my ultimate goal is light.
Beauty is abundant and everywhere; that joy is not found but allowed.
What I notice about walking, the circles twice daily,
Mooching into the land, nature feels intimate with the familiar route
I explore the same spaces; I am fascinated by its subtleties.
It is when I continue, I notice the ripple-shadows hovering.
The lace of light through the leaves, the branches of the wind.
The patience of birds searching for worms in the green rain filled grass
The dream of my spiritual residence, the mountains, lakes, and my Big Bear.
The peace that surrounds me when I drift away from my dream.
I observe the invisible architecture that houses possess within my story.
I love the idea of restoring my life, my story, my world.
The characters and who they are beyond what they say and act.
The pattern of themes in the story, the feeling of simplicity.
So walk in nature and choose a book you love,
Walk tall in life's areas of conscious expectation.
Embrace the butterfly flying towards your soul.
Read that book, you never know it may just heal your heart.
