I feel anxiety sometimes, especially when I am at home alone. How can I cope with these feelings?

Help with anxiety
Welcome Jmcmaho7 to an amazing and caring community.
Sometimes it helps sharing our fears with others who understand.
We are always here for you so you don't feel so alone.
What thoughts prompt these feelings within you? xx
Thank you. I suppose fear of the unknown, my low mood when I am alone, and general anxiety related to my mental health challenge. 🙂
That's very common my friend...Fear of the unknown. It is one of the reasons we need
to live in the moment. After all that is all we have that is real. The future comes from
our imagination and the past is gone.
When home alone, try taking your mind to a different place outside of your fear.
I use YouTube as my escape as well as learning experience. There are many videos
on You Tube that focus on different methods of relaxation. I personally use
Meditation & Breathing several times a day which keeps me in an even keel
of peace and calm. Breathe xx
Hello and Welcome. I am glad you have joined us.
My therapist's recommendation is: 1. acknowledging the feeling (aha there you are again, anxiety)
2. waiting for the anxiety to peak and subside (imagine a surfing a wave to the beach)
3. taking time to relax again for 10 minutes (something you enjoy, music or guided meditation)
4. plan for a small thing to do next after #5 (go for a short walk)
5. celebrate coping with your anxiety (cup of coffee)
This is my plan. Whatever variation works for you is the most thing. 🐈⬛

Hey Jmcmaho and welcome , i know the feelings of aloneness so well, but try to focus on being kind to yourself first and foremost, it does beand flow and you will learn to manage on being alone. I'm not sure if you do live alone or if its when no one else is home.?
I’m struggling with this too. So lonely, and depressed, and sometimes panic occurs. I feel like I was isolated and abandoned by the rest of the community. I don’t know where I belong to
Hi Jade,
I’m sorry to hear that you are feeling that way. I meditate and I also practice mindfulness and this helps me have a connection with my spirituality. I also go to California Clubhouse, which is a social vocational rehabilitation facility. They prepare lunch and they have job training activities.
Hi Jmcmaho7.
Thank you for your kind words. I tried meditation but it did not help in my case. Or may be I did it wrong way and many bad thoughts and feelings occur. I was so scared and stopped meditation since then. I’m living in Vietnam, there’re no such place like California Clubhouse here. I’m now losing motivation and meaning of my life. I also could not go to work because of my mental health issue. I don’t know what to do and where to go.
Hi Jade,
Keep your spirits up. I am a speaker for In Our Own Voice, and I speak for the psychiatric unit of the hospital. It is my experience that hope is always possible. I have also had a gratitude journal, where I have written down what things that I am grateful for in my life. This helped me to stay focused on the positive things that I have in my life.
Hi Jmcmaho7,
Thank you for your advice. It's good to hear that you could be still doing something meaningful and feeling positive in your life. I find myself hardly keep the spirit up. I also tried gratitude journal, and the positive affirmation. But I didn’t actually feel happy or grateful at that moments. But it’s good to be here to talk to people and have my voice to be heard. I’ve just found the community yesterday.
