I'm not perfect but parts of me are excellent

I love the phrase, "I'm not perfect but parts of me are excellent." Here's an example of imperfect. Lately I've been smoking. Please know that I do not judge people who smoke. I only judge myself. Now I've blamed it on stress because of family drama (divorcing husband, daughter and family struggling to keep their heads above water). I know that I will quit again, but I also know that nicotine will always be there to take advantage if I'm depressed and anxious. It's the same as any addiction. I've smoked since I was 12 yrs old. In the last three decades I've quit for five and ten years at a time. But when I get depressed and anxious, smoking is something I can do.😡 An example of a part of me that is excellent is that I take responsibility and I don't blame others. How about you? 🥰

I love this take on things, that allows us to acknowledge our imperfections without harsh ndthcdgbv. What's the nonsense word there? JUDGMENT. I say that because your own words pointed out the problem:

I don't judge others, only myself. 😅 I only blame myself😄

Yes, most of our problems come from a warped version of unspoken messages we all internalize in society: "Don't be selfish. " We have morphed that into " what you say and do to yourself is no one's business, just don't do that to others. 😀 Would you agree?

We need to catch ourselves whenever we see ourselves as different from others, in terms of what what we might do that defeats us. It's the demonstration of words we hear all the time, without really understanding the importance of living and accepting ourselves exactly as we are. EXCEPT ADDING we are all equal in our self worthy and dignity.

Now on to my example: I can't stand clutter. And yet, I hope you never see my house, lol. And day after day, I cannot figure out why I can't even start to address it. It's hard not to feel bad about who I am knowing I COULD AND SHOULD be able to do this, to eliminate some of the clutter that makes me crazy if I look at it, so I stop looking at it.

😀😅 Yes, we humans are a funny species.

I think I will stop reading and responding now, and try to face the clutter of the day.. Because I truly deserve better and I have techniques to try. Today it's the Pomodoro technique for procrastinators. I will keep trying, even if I don't succeed today.🙏❤️
