Mirtazepine

Hi I started mirtazepine after trialing numerous SSRIs a year ago that did not agree with me. I'm on 45mg and getting severe dizziness to the point I nearly passed out yesterday and fell so ended up at A and E. I'm due to see doctor today to reduce them which I know might be difficult but trying to stay positive.Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem or similar?

I am so sorry S526, drug reactions and side effects are crazy. How are you doing now? Have you tried venlafaxine? I like that one, it is an NSRI. There was heightened anxiety starting and stopping though.

Hi thanks for replying, I'm doing okay. Good and bad days. weaning down to 30mg seeing how I go over 2 to 4 weeks alternating between 45mg and 30mg as recommended by doctor.I've tried all of the ssris and they didn't agree with me I couldn't get over the first few weeks of heightened anxiety as I was already having a constant panic attack all day and night before I finally found mirtazepine which is great in some ways but to many bad side effects like weight gain and dizziness.

I have heard of venlaflaxine my friend found it helpful.

I'm just so scared to start trying different ones again as I was ill last year when trying to find one that agreed.

I'm so sorry S526... the drug roller coaster is very hard. Are you getting some good therapy as well? I think that drugs can be extremely helpful to take the edge of so you can think, but I believe that if we can change the way we think we can change the way we feel.
