hi beautiful people! i wonder if there’s anybody who practices meditation or some other buddhist practices to cope with mental issues. i’m trying to take this path now and i’d like someone to share their experience or even be my buddy in this area to support and motivate each other. is there anyone with the same need? wishing lots of love to everyone 💓

meditations/buddhist practices to heal anxiety
Hi Road-Killer I don't have much time tonight(12:30 am) here in Calif. but this new path you're wanting to travel will test your patience. Zazen (seated meditation) is not a cure all but a wonderful addition to meds, therapy, healthful living & a spiritual connection. Two of my favorite teachers are Shunru Suzuki(now deceased) was my master. Reference book ~ 'Crooked Cucumber'. The other is Pema Chödrön, an American Buddhist nun a resident teacher at Gampo Abby, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia the first Tibetan Monastery in North America for Westerners. One of her books is called ~ 'When Things Fall Apart' Heart Advice for Difficult Times. If you're not into mantras, chant or say affirmations for yourself & the world. You don't have to be Buddhist, you can be you. Start where you are. Good luck on your journey... remember ~ 'Zen mind, beginner mind.'🙏
thank you 😊😊
Hi
I've been doing this since 2015. I use an app called Insight Timer which is free. There is so much you can learn on this app.
I've taken some free courses on Buddhism and I've read some books.
Definitely give it a try. It's helped me a lot
