New Car wrecked

I’m a bit down. I bought a new car less than a week ago and I was in an accident through no fault of mine that left me with 4 fractures in my arms. Left hand, wrist, and elbow. Right wrist. So now I have trouble doing absolutely everything. I can’t lift or open bottles or do personal care. Thank God I wasn’t hurt worse, but I am down about the whole thing.

I'm sorry about the accident. Your injuries are going ti make things very difficult to manage.

Did you require surgery? Is everything casted?

They are waiting a week to cast it for swelling to go down. So big splints.

It is incredibly sad to hear ov your case.Have you spoken to your insurance company and you will need to make a claim for all of your injuries and distress as as a result of the accident.

Did you obtain details of the other car and see if your Insurance can help you with repairing your car and obtaining compensation for personal injury.

You will need to speak to the legal department of your car insurance for personal injury and distress and inconvenience but when you are better contact your insurance company, this is why insurance is paid

yes, details under control. Thanks for your reply! A bit discouraging that my state is no fault when it is officially not my fault.

I too live in a state with no fault insurance and it sucks! And we pay ridiculously high premiums! Glad you wasn’t hurt seriously though seriously enough!

Wasn’t hurt, weren’t hurt? Not sure what is correct, my school teacher friend would be shaking her head right now! Lol

My sympathies man... But don't worry I broke my right hand once it took some time but I got back to normal and so will you!!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I agree with Shep22, you should file claim for injuries, for sure. I hope you have someone you can call on for assistance.

hi, I’m an sorry this happened to you, and that you are injured. It’s upsetting, I know, but as you said, thank God it’s not worse! 🙏🏻 ❤️

I had something similar happen to me about 4 1/2 years ago ☹️. Three days after I bought my car, I got badly rear-ended sitting at a red light by a lady who was on her phone, not paying attention, and crashed into me with her big SUV. Ruined the whole back of my new car, and gave me whiplash. I have a history of head injuries and so it added to that cumulative score, as well, which is not good. Had headaches, neck and back pain etc. Plus, she was driving illegally with no drivers license and underinsured.

Wishing the best in your recovery! Try to think positive and know that this is just a healing process and that you will get thru this just fine. Do you have any friends or neighbors that can help you with things? Or will your (or their) insurance help you get a home aide, as someone else suggested?

I’m actually doing ok. Just slower and more awkward to get things done. Many thanks for your reply!
