too many bad people - too few police, guards etc

Every time I read about these terrible events happening I am grateful and bless the UK for having the sense not to allow guns in the general population in the same way.

Not criticising the USA as their history is different and it is as it is.

The bystanders really are heroes and its very good to know there are people like this in the world.

yes UK laws seem to be working but more stricter on knives and we will be better off - these things keep happening at the moment

Yes knife crime is a big issue in many countries including the UK. But guns do enable many more tragic victims.

I read that the bystanders took down one of the gunmen. Agreed, they are heroes.

hypercat, it's maddening to live in a country with so much gun violence. Scary, frustrating, and maddening.😬🤨

Such a shock. My home state as you know. My nephew was there and said they ran for their lives in terror thinking this would never come to their back door. I’m surprised more weren’t killed but the heroic actions by bystanders made the difference. Bravo to them for stepping up. This country is going to hell in a hand basket. That’s all I have to say on this.

It is my home state too...I live about 30 minutes from kansas city...I could've been there...luckily for me I don't deal well with large groups of people......and didn't go...

Sadly a far from uncommon occurence (think I have spelt it wrong as the red line is there driving me potty) in the USA.

Very tragic for all concerned and I wish them and their families all the best. Awful.

Thank you hypercat. It's so common I'm not even stunned anymore. The twin towers changed me, changed all of us here I guess.

Can't have that. Here you go: "occurrence."

When I'm stumped, I best guess it, till spell correct stops complaining.😆

Yes. I was at work when 9/11 happened. I remember someone saying awful about that plane. I jumped up and went to watch the nearest TV and there was a huge collective in take of breath and we could hardly believe it was real. I remember going home and just watching it all night absolutely stunned into complete silence. It felt surreal. Awful.

Thanks for the right spelling. I used to be a very good speller but old age and decrepency (red line again - grrr) have got me now.

The tragedies at these mass events is absolutely disturbing and disgusting. God be with the victims and their families. Wish we had a better hold on crime and violence.

Terrifying. Condolences to the family of the bereaved and healing to the wounded.

Oh am so sorry. I haven't seen any news about that. It's really shocking that this sort of thing can be allowed to go on. One can only send healing and love to those people involved.

I saw the pictures on Sky News channel & I was very shocked as the majority were just babies & it's sickening & they said at first 2 people were detained & the next morning it was 3 as 1 was tackled by the public. It's saddening & I pray all those kids make full recoveries.

It is so disheartening to hear of all of these very public tragedies. And when we’re dealing with depression and anxiety of our own, it is especially difficult. I am so glad that we have this outlet to help each other. Take heart and keep coming here for support.

What was difficult for me was knowing that some of my friends were on the front line running towards the gunfire. Some of my friends were the 1st responders taking the 22 victims to safety and getting them help. Not knowing if they are ok

Feel the same. I'm so sick of gun tragedies.

Mizz, it's tragic, but did you know the bible foretold all the crime, hate, war etc.

Regardless of your religious background, you will find that the Bible is unlike any other book. It's trustworthy because GOD is the Author.

Yes, He used men to write it, but they were inspired by His Spirit.

This is beginning to sound so familiar, religion of any sort to bring in the solution, the old story of "more people die because of differences of religion" and of course AI misinformation just to add in as well! PLEASE some NEW solutions somewhere, new ideas are needed ASAP?🕵️‍♀️

newbie1956 profile image
newbie1956 in reply toAdlon57

Adlon, most people ask "Why"? and are looking for "solutions"

Are you optimistic about the future? Many people try to remain positive despite the serious problems we face today. But can we realistically expect things to get better? Yes! The Bible gives us a solid hope for a better tomorrow.

Do you know the bible also reveals the actions & attitudes of scoffers?

Respectfully

Adlon57 in reply tonewbie1956

No I am not optimistic about the future, it is just I have heard the same so called "solutions" being brought up again and again! Tiring🥴 Something radically new is needed!

Incidentally been down that way over forty years ago, I am an Agnostic!

Adlon, "The Good News" I'm referring to is better than anything radical, which is usually associated with political views.

My belief in a Creator makes my life fulfilling & rich. It stimulates me intellectually, since there are endless beautiful things to be discovered about him, about his creation, and about his Word. It helps me to be positive & content.

Please keep in touch.

and it was completely meaningless and pointless, some sort of dispute between people who arent mature or brave enough to settle their issues in an adult way. It almost makes it worse to me because it shows how routine and thoughtless things continue to get

That's just it....they were kids themselves

Artistfriend profile image
Artistfriend in reply tomizzou7016

I know but it could just as easily been people of any age i guess thats partly what i meant.

It wasnt planned, it was just a casual "dispute" over probably nothing that people cant handle anymore

This is why I am hesitant to speak here any more. It's more than just religious beliefs and the bible....it is knowing the people on the front line that had to run into battle...that had to face the fear and do what they were trained to do. I'm fading to dark. If ya need me send me a private chat. I will give you another way
