hi, I’m wondering if anyone knows of a virtual or in person support group for depression in NJ/NYC area? I feel hearing from others and being around those that understand would be beneficial for me.

You might want to try NAMI National Alliance on Mental Illness. They have both virtual and in person support groups. This site here is a great place to meet and talk with people who understand.
