Hi, I’m new to this and this is my first post. I’m hoping talking to people will help me deal with my anxiety and depression. Any advice on how to cope with symptoms is welcome, as is anyone who just wants to chat.

hope to get to know some of y’all.😁

Welcome. This is such a great place to meet people who understand. There are people here who have recovered and share their stories with us. It is very inspiring to hear. Two self help books that you will hear recommended here are Hope and Help for Your Nerves: End Anxiety Now by Dr Claire Weekes and Feeling Great: The Revolutionary New Treatment for Depression and Anxiety by David Burns. I am not sure if you are interested in books or not, but I just wanted to mention them in case. There are lots of YouTube videos and websites that are recommended too. You can really learn a lot here. I hope you find it as helpful as I have.

You will get so much more advice here and so many people sharing their personal experiences. I just figured that was some sort of starting point.

Sorry to hear you are in a dark place at times. I am on sertraline and find that keeps me in a lighter place. Please see doctor and they can help. Try to be active, vfresh air, deep breathing. The mind needs to be refocused on something. TV. Music talking to a listening ear ie Samaritans any time . Talk to yourself , I do "this will not defeat me, I am strong* do belly laughs, releases happy endomorphines.

What are endorphins? Endorphins are chemicals (hormones) your body releases when it feels pain or stress. They're released during pleasurable activities such as exercise, massage, eating and sex too. Endorphins help relieve pain, reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being.

Welcome. I hope you find the answers you need. What worked for me me was therapy, medication, and hobbies.

Welcome aboard, friend. This is a great place, and I’m glad you’re here.

I can understand how difficult it must be for you to go through anxiety and depression. Are you seeing a therapist? I’d suggest that you listen to good music, stay calm and relaxed. Maybe you could pursue an activity, sport, or hobby that makes you feel good. Physical exercise has the added benefit of helping to relieve negative emotions naturally. Take good care of yourself and stay strong.

Not what you're looking for?
