The Mental Health Network, NSUN (The National Service User Network, nsun.org uk) is currently including in their bulletin a campaign against the use of a private technological company for surveillance of patients by promoting the use of cameras, audio and facial recognition in hospital bedrooms and bathrooms. This is said to a breach of Human Rights. I agree.
For valid reasons, I can't name the private company responsible here but there is a small voluntary group running the campaign. You can find their website address via the NSUN bulletin which you can find on the NSUN site (nsun.org.uk). That small group is doing some amazing and exhausting work; they have already identified the several health trusts using the technology and those are published on their website.
I'm sorry for chasing around the houses but if I give you the website address of the campaign, I'll directly reveal the name of the private company in question.
N.B. NSUN is an organisation for the rights of users of mental ill-health services and policies. Membership of NSUN is free for individual users. The term mental ill-health is my own preferred use of language.
