Anyone else on here have dentophobia? I recently began having fears of going to the dentist. I have never really liked going to the dentist, but I now have terrible anxiety over going to the dentist (even having my teeth cleaned causes anxiety).
If anyone has any helpful tips or success in overcoming the fear of dental work, I would love to hear them. I have tried many things and meds seem to be the only thing that works for me.
Well yes, my ✋️ is up. I'm beyond petrified of going to the dentist. Like, I'd do my own dental work if I could. I'm dreading a visit. My last dentist who sadly retired actually prescribed Valium for me bc he saw how terrified I was. It helped a little. -Klonopin helps in these situations for me.
The best advice I have is to search search search for a dentist who goes about things in a gentle and caring way and understand anxiety. They're out there. That's what I did. I found a dentist who says they're gentle and understand dental anxiety and have ways that they go about things to ease me. We'll see, I'm still scared.
Also, Google reviews never fail to shine a light on a provider too. Reviews in general can help you.
