mood v thoughts: I have the absence of moods

when I’m in a depression, as I am right now, I don’t identify with the idea of a low mood. I feel the absence of mood, up or down. And instead it’s all about negative thinking loops. Does anyone relate to this? If I’m not experiencing a low “mood” am I not actually depressed and just have a thought disorder?

I’ve always related depression to pain not mood, I can relate depression with negativity sort of, if I think about it. sadness is something completely different to me.

Thought disorders can be a bi-product of anxiety and depression. I understand not experiencing a low mood. Some depression exhibits more of a numb type of no-mood feeling. Everyone experiences it differently. (Some thought disorders can be prevalent in dementia and other neurological diseases as well though.) Best wishes to u.

I’m not sure but the absence of a mood is feeling numb perhaps. Maybe you could read up on the difference between numbness and absence of mood. I’m thinking they are similar.
