I can’t go into much detail about it but I had a really good time with a friend of mine earlier today but something happened and now that thing is all I can think about, not the good times or the fun or anything just what I did to embarrass myself. I think it’s natural to fixate on the mistake or error or negative even if it’s surrounded by an infinite amount of good or positive. Like going to see a symphony that performs flawlessly except the one time the string section went sour on a note. its an unfair contrast but that one instance seems to have more weight than the rest of it.
I suppose you’re right, it’s just hard not to sit here, red faced, feeling sorry for myself
I get it I understand. It just really sticks out. chances are you’re more aware of it than your friend is. nothing to feel sorry for yourself about. it’s just fresh in your mind and it’s natural to fret. is it anything you can laugh off?
