How to keep the thoughts at bay?

anxiety and panic attacks are getting worse. Kaiser’s mental health can’t get me in for 6 weeks, but I was able to get my doctor to prescribe something (Lexapro). Feel kinda like a zombie, as it’s day one.

I keep thinking that I will get worse and harm myself. I don’t want to, but I keep getting these nagging, intrusive thoughts. They are not factual thoughts, but just keep reoccurring. Any tips on flushing those thoughts away?

You are doing the right thing by reaching out and asking for help. Know that many people here will chat with you about anything that you need to. Some will share with you about their own situation.

I'm sorry that you're struggling. Sounds like you may need some coping skills. I wanna direct you to a place that my therapist led me. Therapistaid.com. This site has so much helpful stuff, change my my thinking on a lot. It has from gratitude journals to coping skills. I like The Tapping Solution too as well as binaural beats. I hope you feel better.

It helps to do something else besides "ruminate". Change where you are, go outside. Read a nice book. Help someone else, cook something nice to eat. Call a sane friend, (yesterday I did talk to someone but the conversation led to suicide and it didn't help me a bit!) lol....gotta have a sense of humor.

I have no thoughts as I really have not been in that position. Hope you are better today than yesterday Rick
