I’ve made such good progress with my anxiety journey and being able to manage it!
however with the warm weather in the UK at the minute it seems to be affecting my anxiety and I feel shaky, and extremely tired like I just want to sleep all day! The heat is also getting to me a lot more than usual and I’ve heard this can be due to taking sertraline.
has anyone got any tips? I don’t want to spend the whole summer sleeping!

I live in Arizona and take sertraline but haven’t noticed an impact from the heat. When I first started taking it I had all kinds of weird side effects but my body has adjusted and I don’t get lethargic. Unless I’m in a depressive episode or reacting to anxiety meds. Hang in there - your body should adjust!
I have been taking sertraline for 9 months at the start I had virtually every side effect, less after 2 weeks but 6 weeks before I was feeling better. Probably 5 months before I actually felt like my old self. The heat recently in North West (UK) has been difficult for me but don’t think that’s due to Sertraline, I just don’t like high temperatures.
You don’t say how long you have been taking Sertraline, perhaps you need to take it for a longer period. Best option may be to talk to your GP.
I really hope you start to get more energy soon, the present cooler weather may help.
I took sertraline for years and never had any issues with the heat. More than likely it's just your anxious brain blowing things up out of proportion. Those of us with anxiety issues tend to need to control things and want consistency but the reality is that everything is constantly changing including us as we go through our day. Our energy level and mood varies throughout the day but thats just being human. The heat and warm weather can be uncomfortable with or without the sertraline and if it's working for you it would probably be best to stay on it.
