The only advice I can offer is to taper very, very slowly. I was on a very low dose for only a year a while back. When I wanted to stop, my psychiatrist wanted me to taper in like two weeks. I ignored him and took two months, reducing every two weeks and had no problem.
The consensus of people who know about this is to reduce 5% to 10% at a time and hold for two weeks to a month.
I imagine you want to be done with it and start losing weight, but don't rush. . Slow and steady is best.
Good luck!

From my experience and what I have read of many others experiences is that most doctors and psychiatrists are clueless about what it's really like to stop taking a psych med. The reality is the majority of them don't take them themselves and don't have actual experience with them. My suggestion is to at least double or triple the taper time or even longer that they recommend and to go at your own pace if possible. The more time you give your mind and body to adjust the better off you will be.
