Hi I’ve been struggling with anxiety for a long time but just recently, I started having physical sensations that aren’t true. I’m use to the palms sweating and all that, I just freak myself when I can’t feel my arms or hands. Any tips or anything thank you!

Hi Dale15, let me assure you that Anxiety can cause many types of symptoms

along the way. Once you may get use to one symptom, Anxiety tests you by bringing

on a different array of symptom and sensations.

As you know, Anxiety is all about being in the state of "fight or flight". Once this

happens, our breathing gets out of whack and we start to hyperventilate. When this

happens the blood circulation in our system goes to the vital organs in preparing us

to flee. It takes that blood from our extremities which can be hands, arms, feet and/or

legs.

In order to get control over these feelings, you need to change your way of breathing.

Slowing down the inhales and exhales is the "key" in gaining control. Using movement

is another way to release the adrenaline in allowing your arms and hands to move.

Mind control by re-focusing on something else besides the physical symptoms.

Last but not least, reaching out to this forum will provide you with much support

and caring making you not feel so alone.

Welcome new friend, I'm glad you are here with us. We care. It's going to be okay. :) xx

I agree with Agora1. What you are describing sounds very much like Hyperventilating. A nurse practitioner I talk with a lot taught me about "Box Breathing", and it has done wonders for me. In a nutshell, breathe in counting in your head 4-3-2-1, then hold your breath 4-3-2-1, then exhale 4-3-2-1, and hold again for a count of 4-3-2-1 and start the cycle over. After doing this for 5 or 10 minutes your panic will subside.

I hope this helps
