Does anyone struggle with new things you buy and if you accidentally dropped it or did something wrong or got a scratch on it you feel super guilty or even worse I feel like I'm doing life completely wrong and it's a sign that I broke something accidentally or didn't take the right steps to read a manual before using something? Like tonight I received an air filtering machine and I didn't know the filter inside the machine was in a plastic bag and I turned it on and read the manual minutes later to realize there was a plastic bag inside that needs to be thrown away. The machine turned off by itself once and I'm sworn it's broke and it's really irritating. Any ideas?

Ocd symptoms
Sometimes I get a bit over zealous with something new and dive right in.
I did it the other day. If I had read the directions I would have bent an area, I did the reverse of what I should have done.
For me it's just another sign that I have to slow down and not rush things

It sounds like besides the OCD you are dealing also with perfectionism and have a lot of shame when you make mistakes which we all do at times because there is no such thing as perfection. Perfectionism is a coping strategy that you adopted at an early age in order to adapt and protect yourself probably from an emotionally or even physically abusive childhood. Perfectionism is a common aspect of OCD. You may also be suffering from some form of childhood trauma and have c-ptsd.
You might check out the youtube videos of Matthew Codde at Restored Minds and also Paige Pradko, they are both therapists who have had OCD and recovered and now help others heal. There is also a lot of good info on youtube about perfectionism and how to deal with it.
