Tonsillectomy

I'm getting a tonsillectomy sometime next month.. and I'm very anxious about it. I heard the recovery is worse for adults and more painful. And the risk of bleeding afterwards is high.. which is scary to me. Has anyone on here had theirs removed? What should I expect and any advice

i got my tonsils out at age 40 and worth it.I had tubes in my ears also. it was wonderful after a week. there are actually 3 parts on tonsils which one they dont touch anymore because the third part was the bleeder and caused issues for being older. slat water gargle and obey doc. icecream a must. much less infection period i wa on antibiotics every other month.

I'm constantly having throat infections and they're swollen all full of stones. Affecting my breathing. I'm going to be glad they're out once all the pain is gone

Removing them because of constant tonsil stones and they're swollen and affecting my ears and breathing
