Mental health and meditation

So lately my mental health has been getting worse I cry myself to sleep most nights. my home life is hard but so far it's manageable. I try to distract myself with little things like reading or writing but now not even that helps I talked to a pastor at a local church and he told me about this amazing grounding technique, I've been doing it for a few days now and it really does help. I had a manic episode not long ago and it wasn't as bad as it normally is but now my PCP says there is nothing more he can do for me as far as my mental health goes and wants me to see someone that can help. So I just had my evaluation and I see my psychiatrist on the 20th. I'm nervous because my last one took my meds away she didn't ween me off then she just said to stop them all. my birthday is coming up and I don't think i will get to celebrate due to lack of funds. it seems small but its a big thing for me.

I understand how you feel. Keep it going and you’ll do great. Don’t distract your mind, you’re just running away from the problem. Instead face it figure out why you’re sad and when it started. Best of wishes to you

I’m sorry you are going through this. I think it’s a hopeful thing that you have the appointment with a psychiatrist.

I think it’s terrible that the last one stopped all your meds without weaning you off first. But I guess it would matter what they were. I’m not a doctor and trust my psychiatrist knows best. She’s a good one.

It took her awhile to come up with the right combination but we got there.

Happy birthday.

Hi,

Thank you for your post.

If you are seeing a new psychiatrist, it might help if you prepare ahead of time for the interview.

By this I mean listing your history of treatment

* all of the medications you have tried and why you stopped,

* other medication you take even over the counter,

* health practitioners you have seen, over what time and what for

*what issues you currently have that need attention of the psychiatrist

* who the support people are for you

You can give him/her a copy for their record. This allows more time for a discussion about you rather than history taking.

Your birth day is an important day because the world got to meet you. I will think of you if you give me the day.

In the meanwhile I found this website full of good ideas thebirthdaybest.com/inexpen...

Wishing you all the best for your visit with the psychiatrist and your birthday

Hi Looking, I think your last psychiatrist was wrong she should not have taken you off all your medications that is really dangerous I've been told that by that by several different therapists. I just had celebrated birthday of mine I have one idea for you go to Denny's if there was one around you they give you a free grand slam for breakfast till I think and also I think Baskin-Robbins could get free ice cream and I know that if you have to have The Habit app and you join them but double check on this you can probably get a free hamburger if you buy a beverage but you have to have the app I hope your birthday you get to celebrate and do something nice for yourself and also if you feel like you're I know that you're struggling financially sometimes the church can help you out with rent and stuff like that if you need help just hope things work out for you and I hope your mental health gets better because I know it's all a struggle to deal with a lot and I will continuously worrying doesn't help either but it's hard not to I wish you the very best peace good health and happiness. And if I could think of any more free birthday things I will tell you🤗🍦🍨🎂🎂🎂🍰
