Why a rubber duck?

I am in an AP computer class and my teacher just brought out a bag of rubber ducks and had us pick one. Apparently talking and trying to explain our code to the duck will help. I just like what? anyway now i have a rubber duck that looks like a leopard for me to talk to.

Funny thing, I almost stopped reading right there, but obviously still went on read to finish the rest and see how it turned out. (cuz what I quoted pretty much explains it)

I've taken NUMEROUS computer classes in my past, and I'm gonna let you in on a little secret.

A LOT of computer teachers out there have an, "Inside Joke" sense of humor, and some go out of the way to leave their, "signature".

This person's "signature" appears to be a rubber duck, but sometimes it's not even a physical item, it might be a word or saying that he/she says that nobody else uses.

"Again" it's just their inside joke/signature sense of humor.
