To worry, or not to worry

Since I started my job, about every month or so I get this feeling that something will happen to my grandfather. It usually lasts for two days but it feels like it has been weighing on my mind more often these days. Usually, I can shake the feeling and get on with my work but it’s just there in the back of my mind.

My grandfather is in his 80’s and has trouble hearing and walking. So it’s hard to watch him get older. I’m just thankful that he is closer to my family (in distance).

Hello Huntress94 - I personally do not like the term, but in clinical nomenclature this is referred to as 'magical thinking,' symptomatic of OCD. Once you're symptoms of OCD remit to some degree, this should help some. It's also important to practice internal mantra's (e.g., there's nothing that I do at work that will affect my grandfather's health, etc.). I wish you the best!!
