Ketamine effectiveness?

Does ketamine work? Anyone have experience with or have heard it works?

I tried it and have to say that I felt free of depression and anxiety for days. It was unreal. I though I was still stoned because I've battled both all my life and didn't know what it was like without those feelings!

I couldn't take it again, though, because I had a severe urinary reaction. If you have ANY history of bladder issues, it is contraindicated, and my therapist didn't stress that to me before. If you don't however, I highly recommend trying it. She thought that with repeated treatments I could beat both the depression and the anxiety.

I did four infusions of it and then stopped because I didn't feel like it was helping me. I found it very unsettling and for me it was like having a wild psychedelic trip and wasn't relaxing or calming at all. It also is very physical and I was depleted for the rest of the day. It's also quite expensive and not covered by insurance. I have to say that my main issue has been more anxiety than depression so maybe that is why I had the experience I did and maybe they gave me too high of a dose. Based on my experience i'm not sure what the big deal is about it. It did give me a somewhat spiritual experience and I could sense that we and all life forms are all connected but I didn't need ketamine to do that. But we are all different and your experience could be totally different.
