I'm a college student, and I got selected to do a studies exchange in January. Even though I'll be finally making my dream come true (as I'll study in my dreamed country), I've been facing lots of anxiety because of it. It is hard to explain, but the fact of travelling alone to my dreamed country just became painful, to the extent I got diagnosed with both severe anxiety and depression.
I'd like to talk someone willing to share their experience with me. Thanks for reading!

Hi Cats, I did a study abroad program. If you do your research ahead of time it will help reduce your stress. Learn the customs especially concerning gender. How do you do being isolated? Are you going some place you speak the language? It is a great adventure but expect some bumps along the way.
Congratulations! I did a study abroad program as well. So many hoops to jump through and I ended up at my favorite school in my favorite city. It's a bit scary when your dreams actually come true vs. just working towards them. You're there and now it's "what's next?" I hope you have a wonderful time - maybe you can reach out to your program admin, they might be able to put you in touch with other students from abroad so you guys can start an online group so you won't be doing it alone.
