Thanksgiving & Christmas

I think this year I'll celebrate the Holidays on this site with all who wish to do so, Maybe I'll do something a little different and do a virtual celebration and enjoy my time with folks who truly understand the gift of Depression and Anxiety. Because of all the people I've met in my lifetime, those with meatal health battles,,,, are , by far, the most caring and understanding people of them all. The word "Ironic" doesn't even begin to describe us

Obsolete, I will be here my friend as I am every day. The holidays present a difficult time

for many on this site. Three years is a long time for you to not have experienced the joy

of the holiday season. Situations change in our lives through the years but that spirit is

still there deep within us. We need to wake it up and have a reminder that you are worthy

to feel that joy again. This world needs more holidays that bring us together.

May I suggest..start slow. Go to one of my favorite happy places, that is the Dollar Tree.

By a little tree, a small string of lights and tiny ornaments. Find a holiday mug for your

coffee or hot cocoa and set it up on a small table in your living room. If you've gotten that

far, that's good. While you're on the forum, sit in this quiet safe place and talk with your

virtual family of friends. I think this might bring you that "hug" that you need at this time

of year. Know that others care so much on this site. Feel the spirit with each keystroke.

You are not alone.

With each holiday over the years, the number of people around the table grows sparse.

The empty chairs are a reminder of what was at one time. Certain traditions do not have

to go away. Treat yourself, you so deserve it. Know that "virtual reality" can become a

"physical reality" once again. Life is unpredictable, we never know what tomorrow may

bring. Happiness can be right around the corner. Most of all "BELIEVE".. :) xx

I am in agreement 🤝 100% this site and forum has been the biggest therapeutic gift I've added to my mental health tool belt in many many years. I've made more personal progress here in 7 months than I ever imagined was possible. It took a long time to find depresssion and anxiety support mainly cuz we tend to isolate ourselves from EVERYTHING & EVERYONE. We don't like leaving the house or mingling with strangers or talking about our problems...hence the challenge of finding good group support. Online participation is IDEAL scenario for us. I'll definitely join you for a Thanksgiving🦃and Christmas🎄 celebration.
