I am new to this community and hardly speak to someone about my condition. I am on Venlor 75mg (Venlafaxine) for a year now and its actually making my life bit difficult. My libido is gone and its affecting my relationship with my husband, and now i dont have the finance to buy it. So i really want to stop it, because i already did not take it this morning. The thing i cannot handle is the way it makes me feel when im not taking it. Cannot see the dr for medical help. What can i do to get through the withdrawal symptoms? The depression i can manage but not this weird feelings my body is experiencing. I can go to the dr for other medication but not now. So i need to get through this on my own for now. How do i do that? Advice will be so much appreciated.

you need to taper. Take half. If that is too drastic take 1/4. i suggest that if you can’t adjust without it seek any sort of care. As you list South Africa I don’t know what the system is like. In the meantime look for self care techniques online such as breathing and meditation, exercise that you enjoy (simple walking can accomplish both). CBT can help. Getting your husband to participate are support will help. Talking it out here may help too
At the moment i dont have Medical Aid and the Dr is expensive, clinic is fully booked for the rest of the year. I have to cope for now, the best way i can
Venlafaxine is the most difficult to reduce.
Do you take retardant capsular or just as one bonded pill ?
The easiest way is to change to the capsular u can open it and reduce the amount by one.
Every one or second week reducing more is very dangerous and I wouldn’t recommend
Thank you for that website. It validates what I have been feeling about Lamictal. Beyond meds is another good resource. beyondmeds.com/
