has anyone else felt like there symptoms got worse after taking Sertraline after one day? Or should I give it time ? I took one the night before with my meal and I had diarrhea and the next morning I felt like I was having deeper thoughts …. Can’t tell if it’s the medication or just my anxiety getting worse ??

Sertraline
Hello Salonz,
It usually takes up to a month before you feel the effects of sertraline on your mood. The diarrhea can be due to it, but if it's not severe I wouldn't worry too much about it. My advice is just to monitor and give the whole thing some time. If you ever feel like things have become too much, you can always talk to your doctor! And we're here for you.

Thanks for your response ! I’ve been having issues for 2 weeks now and I honestly thought something physically was wrong with me but with all the testing everything seemed fine but still felt nervous all the time and as if I wanted to pass out with my heart rate going up so high they finally prescribed 25 mg of Sertraline and after just taking it the first night I felt like my thoughts were getting a little stronger then the by the next morning I just felt worse so I tried calling my doc to see if I should continue to take it but never got a call back, I still ended up not taking it cause I just didn’t like the feeling
I did not have a positive experience with Sertraline but know it has helped certain people. I am now taking Buspirone (for almost 2 weeks) and am still waiting to see if it helps with my anxiety. I am trying to be patient and give it a full month. I know it can be tough / frustrating.
I’ve been on 25mg got 3 weeks. Dreadful nausea most of the time, couldn’t eat, etc etc. however nausea abating finally. Doctor wants me to increase to 50mg but nausea returned! Stuck on 25mg
Are u afraid to take pills? Normally you can experience the normal side effects. But a change in your Psyche shouldn’t happen after one pill. Antidepressants are level medications. They take time until they can have a effect.
