due to the heart issues I have I’m very limited to any anxiety medication I can have. The cardiologist has said sertraline is probably the safest. The pharmacist questioned it when I collected it due to a possible interaction with the blood thinner riveroxaban. Unfortunately I’ve googled it and now anxiety through the roof. I can’t see any other anxiety medication that’s any safer. I’m having counselling. I can’t take a lot of herbal supplements due to heart medications. Anxiety has a negative impact on heart health so I’m taking the sertraline but I’m trying to find others on an ssri and blood thinners.
thanks

Sorry to hear this 😞 i have tried numerous medication for my anxiety and depression over the years,
I have recently come off setriline as i felt it had stopped working and really didn't want to increase the dose again but my partner also is still taking it at 150mg per day,
She has found it becoming less useful over the past year herself so will be going to see the doctor again for advice.
One of my medications for fibromyalgia is called, "Pregabalin"
Not sure if you have heard of it but it also contributes greatly towards anxiety for a number of people i know, aswel as myself , but don't be mistaken for gabapentin as they are similar but very different at the same time, also a massive weight gainer,
Pregabalin has really helped towards the anxiety even though unintended at the beginning and was just for the fibromyalgia but like i said it has really helped myself aswel as lots of other friends i know that take it prescribed from the doctors,
I do not know how they would work with a heart problem but it wouldn't hurt asking your doctor for the advice, or even ask the chemist for the advice,
Diazapam is the main one i have been taking for years now but pretty sure they wouldn't be suitable with a heart condition, again the chemist or doctor should know this for you,
I really do wish you all the best on this one and if i come across any information then i will let you know ASAP,
Take care
P.S. Have you ever tried using the app called mind space on your mobile phone, ? It's free on Google play 🙂
