I’ve just been prescribed Venlafaxine 37.5 mg and Mirtazapine 15mg. I been on Mirtazapine but not Venlafaxine before, anyone got any tips, does it help what’s it like.

I’ve been on Mirtazapine up to 45mg and it’s just not given me enough of a lift.

I am on Mirtazapine 45mg and not working very well so GP put me on Venlafaxine as well and now I feel ok. I was unsure at first as never taken two lots of antidepressants together but they are working well now

Are you still on high dose of venlafaxine I'm on 225mg can I ask what dose you on.It hasn't helped me but doctor wouldn't let me come of it to try another antidepressant so got to wait for phyctrist appointment.Have heard its got a lot of side affects when coming of it.Wounded if you ever reduced venlafaxine and did you experience withdrawal symptoms?

Hi Suneshine. I am on Venlafaxine 37.5 twice a day as well as Mirtazapine 45mg once a day. I have been on antidepressants for 28 years and my previous one Duloxetine stopped working. I was dubious taking 2 different antidepressants a day as had never heard of it before but they seem to be working so fingers crossed. Whenever I have tried to wean myself off medication in the past it hasn’t worked. Good luck

Good morning Spirit-90. I was on Effexor for 20 years. It was very helpful at the time especially for my GAD. Unfortunately it stopped working and I am now on Zoloft which is working for me. I hope it helps you. Have a good day.
