Is it worth it to get help even if it might impact your future career?
I have been dealing with suicidal ideation and depression since I was very young but have ,had to hide it most my life. I recently joined the work force and I don't know if I can keep it up anymore, but I know with getting there's a chance it'll impact my job prospects. Thoughts?

I wish I had something better to say than this that I hope it gets better for you ,ik how difficult it gets sometimes and you're just waiting for something, anything better to happen .
Why do you think it will impact your career? I know that there are some jobs where it can be a problem if it is discovered. For example, it may be a problem for airline pilots, doctors, etc. What type of work do you do? In many careers it should not make a difference.
I know what you mean. I’ve had those feelings all my life too. To answer your question it just depends. Military , get help off the grid because it could affect your career. Working for the county, I said I was dealing with trauma issues, and my employer said there is assistance the company can pay for to help you. Like I’ve heard of companies sending their guy to rehab which was covered by the company and his job was saved for him. Didn’t seem to negatively affect his job as long as he remained sober.
Cloudz99, if you have medical coverage than use it. Talk to your provider about getting meds/therapy. Your mental health is more important than your job.
