Hi and welcome! Grief takes as long as it takes. Please try not to let the posts get you down. Easier said than done I know. I'm learning how to take better care of myself. One of the ways I do this is by doing something enjoyable if I sense myself starting to get depressed by what I see here.

Grief is like a rollercoaster ride, so many ups and downs. It can't be rushed, it's got to run it's course.

Yes it can lead to depression. This is why people are encouraged to speak about their loss. Keeping feelings inside is turning inward. Talk about your loved one to people. Share how sad you feel. Show your emotions.

I agree with Norw, it takes as long as it takes. I have had 5 bereavements over last 18 months and that is not including losses due to traumtic life. I cry when i need to, i get down, i get angry. I thought i could rush through my grief but its impossible. You just have to go with it, there is no set time. Its an individual thing. But yes ungrieved for losses can turn into depression but it is very healing to grieve,
