A line I never heard before online: "I'm not ready to see your face"

What does it mean when an online friend who i have not see their face yet and whom has not seen mine say that they're uncomfortable with seeing my face and not ready yet? It thrown me off and made me a little upset but I couldn't tell them that. We did voiced though and talked on call, so i thought we were coming closer. And there is all this other people who they must have seen their faces on their profile picture on Discord. So... what's the deal? Any thoughts?

It's Discord like mentioned above. It's a gaming platform to connect with friends who game or other communites. I just don't understand it because should it be the other way around? lol.. like they should be uncomfortable showing their picture but they need time to see "my face?" I'm sorry if I'm not getting it- really confused. 🤣🤣

I know i should respect it but it made me feel like poop. He sees this other woman's face so why not mine? 😦And I only told him i'm face revealing my picture.😅 So.. what if he sees my face.. would his perception of me change..? or..? maybe he don't want to get to know me yet as someone closer. ig ☹️ I just thought we were friends smh.. i don't get online friendships.. sorry! ♥️

So they don't want to see your face? Lol that's different usually they aren't ready to show their own face from my experience. Never had somebody tell me they aren't ready to see mine lol unless they think by doin so they have to show theres too .

If I’m reading this right….if you show him your pic,he’ll feel obligated to show you his pic. He might not want to do that for a lot of reasons. He could be on the FBI most wanted list.

Hi AR , It's just possible that this friend/acquaintance has developed an attachment BUT has a picture in his mind that U look like Gal Gadot when in fact u could be more Marilyn Monroe & so they may not wish to spoil their own version.

NOW there is a part of me that says step carefully as this person could be someone that has a lot of baggage & we all on here have our own things we need to deal with.

Now a suggestion just change ur avatar to a pic of you so everyone in discord sees U & go from there as surely ur there just to game & chat & that's about it.

Btw........ the issue is all his not you. 100%
