Hey there friends!! I just met with my doctor that prescribes me my medicine and told her about my increased anxiety around this time of year. She has upped my Zoloft daily from 50 mg to 75 mg and also has prescribed me a 7 day "trial" as you would say, of Propranolol at 10 mg. Has anyone on here increased their Zoloft like I have or has anyone taken Propranolol. I get nervous being given new medication before Thanksgiving but if it will help I will be more than happy to try it. Just looking to see if anyone else out there has experience with these medications. Thank you in advance, I hope everyone is having a great day!!!!! :) :)

Hey there, autumnmarie5I took Zoloft, awhile back but it didn't do anything for me but make me want to sleep. My mom took propranolol for her high blood pressure.

The best antidepressant that I was on was Effexor, Lexapro, and Celexa. My child was prescribed Lexapro for his depression and anxiety, he's been on it since Mar- Jun. He is on 15mg seeing the Dr on Fri will probably have to go up another 5mg.

My other child has really bad anxiety, he missed a lot of school because of tummy aches and headache, so the Dr prescribed him 25mg hydroxizine. He takes it at night because it makes you sleepy, and the next day he is fine. He has been on it for two years now.

Everyone is different. With the holidays, you have the changing of the seasons, its getting darker sooner. A lot comes into the picture. You know your body best.

I believe you have to watch what you take with the propranolol. I don't remember my mom passed away in 2013.

I really understand your frustration and worry. 💙I hope it works out for you. Be safe🎄

Hi Autumnmarie5,

I've taken propranolol before and it def helped with anxiety symptoms e.g. panic. Because it seems to prevent adrenaline getting too overworked, it can give you a chance to relax a bit more and not have as many anxiety symptoms as normal. Def reduced panic attacks for me, palpitations and generally helped to ease anxiety at the time.

Take care :-)

Hello, I’ve been on Zoloft forever! I take 200 mg per day. I’m like you in that the fall and winter months make my anxiety worse. My doc recently increased me to 250 mg because my anxiety increased over the holidays. Apparently 200 mg is the recommended highest dosage but he has increased it to 250 mg for some of his patients.Just want you to know you are not alone. I was 19/20 years old when my anxiety and depression started. Therapy and medication have helped me tremendously. I recently had a setback for a couple of reasons. My dad passed away 3 years ago and my mom right at the onset of the pandemic. Plus, I’m menopausal! Lol.

Anyways, keep the faith! You can/will feel better! God bless! 🙏❤️
