I was recently prescribed cholesterol meds. The first few days I felt the tiniest bits of light headedness. No biggie. But last night, I felt my anxiety creep up. It could be just that I have several days coming up. I woke up at 1:30 with a panic attack. Had to do some deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation to get myself feeling ok enough to go back to sleep. Woke up again on edge around 3:30. Took some emergency meds. Still woke up at 4:30 and 5:30 before my alarm finally went off at 6:30.
Here is my question. Has anyone had experience with cholesterol meds affecting their anxiety levels? If so, were you able to resolve the issue? Like your body got used to the meds or you switched up the cholesterol meds?
Thanks in advance for any intel!

Hello
I resisted these meds for a long time when I was advised I needed them mainly because of the stories you read especially joint pains etc
I found myself in a position where I had to take them due to having 3 heart attacks in a short space of time
I cannot say that I think they have made my anxiety worse
I did ask to drop the dose down as they were giving me joint pains and what I take now 40mg so far I seem ok
If you need them I would take them but if you think they are making your anxiety worse you could talk with your Doctor they may reduce your dose or try you on a different one that might suit you more x
