Hi guys. Has anyone any tips on beating lonliness or at least being content on my own? I'm in the process of divorce (my wife fell out of love with me), and have few friends. I'm reliant on parents and mental health workers, but I need something social to distract me - I want something to enjoy and balance out the hurt. My interests are YouTube, video gaming, my kids, reading, and painting, which all tend to be solitary.

Any tips on relieving lonliness?
I'm sorry you're going through this difficult time Raptorvelo. There is a website called meetup.com. It's not a dating site but instead a place where you can find out about events scheduled in your area for any interest you might have. For example, I noticed they have meetings for painters. They might go to a park or some other area and sketch or paint something in their surroundings. You can maybe check and see if anything is scheduled where you live. Then you could meet people with the same interests you have and make a hobby that's usually solitary a bit less lonely.
Solitary hobbies are not the best ways to overcome loneliness, walks in the park, get involved with a charity of your choice, volunteer for something, are the easiest ways to get chatting to folks again.
Well I’m not gonna be much help as you want advice on non solitary stuff. I got through my divorce by playing World of Warcraft. I mean I was technically alone but I played with others in a guild and there was “ventrillo” which you could chat with people and playing the game really took my mind off stuff.
I don’t know how it is where you live when it comes to Covid and if it’s safe to go out but IF it is and you’re protected you could volunteer somewhere or join some sort of club?
I have never been on meetup.com but looong ago there was a chat program called Mirc and I went on my cities “channel “ and we would have meetups at pubs(I wasn’t old enough but still went lol) or bowling places etc. and I met some incredible friends who I am still friends with (this was in 1996/97) and even met my ex hubby on there.
