Don't get me wrong. I love dogs. I love horses & goats, skunks, rabbits, giraffes, deer, llamas. I love all animals. Each brings something unique to the table thereby reaffirming that we all have a purpose. Benjamin Hoff wrote a book "The Tao of Pooh". A great work that explains Taoism to Winnie the Pooh. Finally, a language I can understand. He also wrote another book "The Te of Piglet". Here he explores the concept that even the very small have a purpose & a place in this world. Very uplifting.
But that's not what this post is about. This is a hero story about a cat named Mouse. Mouse was a Maine Coon. A huge cat with an over abundance of fur & attitude. In my house at the top of the stairs is on the left the bathroom & on the right is my bedroom. One night Mouse woke me up at 3:30 in the morning. I thought he had to go out so I got up & headed for the stairs. But instead of going down the stairs Mouse went and sat in front of the bathroom. A bit annoyed, I said, "Mouse! Really?" And then I saw it. There was about an inch of water on the floor. The water pipe connected to the toilet had burst! The cat woke me up knowing that I could fix this. My hero!
