How long people stay on Setraline?

How long people stay on Setraline medication for depression and anxiety? I have been taking it for 4 months already and it helped a lot apart from weight gain.

Over 20 yrs. Have increased dosage from 50 to 200. 200 seems to be where I'm most comfortable. No complaints.

Started on 50 then so on I have put weight but it’s up and down xx

I've been on them for about 6 or 7 years now. Various doses from 50mg all the way up to 150mg at different periods of time in my life. Currently on 150mg so that should tell you how things are going for me atm 🙃✌️

I am glad that people use it for longer period of time and it still helps. It gives me hope.

16 years. Dosage vacillates between 100 and 150 mg.

No I've not tried to stop. Have been on Paxil, Effxor and one more I can't think of the name of before. Had two suicide attempts while on Paxil. Sertaline and Lorazepam have helped achieve my goals., which are ... when depression hits ... episodes are longer in between, don't go as deep and don't last as long. Of course, this has been a long journey for me including ECT's. Now I see a psychiatrist 2x a year, take my meds, and work with a therapist/counselor once a month. Not one thing works for everyone...just don't give up.

Hi, I used it for one year, it helped with my anxiety. 50mg. No problems with it.

Hello, I did stop using it because I felt better. Recently, my brother-in-law died suddenly and I am a mess seeing my sister so depressed. Now my mom is in the hospital and it is terrible. Do you work and do you have friends. Right now I am taking a small dose of Ativan at night, because the anxiety is so bad. Try to walk and find a series on Netflix to focus on it helps me to be calm. Please let me know how you are feeling.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I work in school and also have friends and colleagues. Work helps to keep your mind occupied and also leaving the house makes a difference.

Hi, I am new to those please excuse me. I am on break from summer and have been with my sister who lost her husband. Her grief is horrible. I am so confused mornings are awful. My heart beats so fast.

I have been on sertraline 50 mg going on 4 years now. I also take amitriptyline 50 mg & bupropion 75 mg. It took a long time to find the right dosage and combination of meds that worked for me
