Time to believe in your recovery.

Don't just hope for better days ahead, maybe it's time to take control of your recovery. No matter how long or how deeply you have suffered, you can recover you know.

Medications can bring welcome relief. Why not use the respite to plan your cure? Knowledge brings reassurance and an end to bewilderment. The opportunity to discover new ways to regain your quiet mind.

The power of anxiety is limited. It cannot kill you. It will not disable you. Neither can it make you lose your mind. Though at times you can be forgiven for thinking it will.

What it will do is exaggerate every minor concern ten fold. So a headache becomes a tumour. A new manager means you're bound to be fired. Medical tests are certain to find something sinister.

It's the result of constantly subjecting your nerves to fear until they become over-sensitised. That's all. Sensitive nerves then create symptoms that cause more fear that causes more symptoms that cause more fear. It's a vicious circle but it can be broken.

If you've been fighting anxiety without success consider the opposite approach. What you resist will persist: stop fighting and accept your bad feelings for a limited amount of time. Instead frame your mind to accept (for the moment) all the bad feelings that jangled nerves send your way.

Fighting only causes more stress and storm, the very last thing over-sensitised nerves need. So replace fear with Acceptance. Agree to co-exist for the duration with all your symptoms.

Gradually your nerves respond to the reduction in fear hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. They desensitise and begin the process of recovery.

Great will be your joy when that time comes for the days of your demons and anxiety disorder will be numbered.
