Hi and welcome! I hope you see improvement soon. Be patient; new medicines always take time to work. I'm on this too, btw.

Hi Fahim, Both sertraline and escitalopram are SSRIs - these medicines can take a few weeks to start working. Google them. And the dose is increased gradually. 10mg could be a low dose for you. I have been on SSRIs for a long time now so I know a bit about how they work. Meanwhile see if a natural diet, nutrition, exercise, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, sunlight, walking in nature, spending time with friends, etc help to alleviate the depression a bit.

There are some reports that EFT and EMDR can help to reduce mild depression a bit. Maybe you could try them?

Hi Fahim...

I have been on Escitalopram for almost 16 months. As I was having anxiety and depression symptoms, my Doctor prescribed escitalopram 5mg initially and later increased to the dose to 10 mg. For me it took almost 6 weeks to see the complete desired effect. Along with medication, I used to practice deep breath exercises and mindful meditation to cope with the symptoms. After 12 months, I have tried taking medicine alternate days instead of daily, and now I am taking one tablet for 3 days. I am completely ok now with occasional symptoms.

So,Dont loose hope, the light is very near and you will be soon out of the MDD. Keep faith ..If you need any information please get back to me..

Good luck
