A few years back all of a sudden, I was feeling something in my throat that felt like a twitch. After a trip to my Doctor and an ekg, I was told to go to the emergency room because my heart beat was irregular. Fast forwarded 6 months to a diagnosis of anxiety. Not sure that I ever had anxiety until the palpitations but each time they get heavy, I get anxious.

Never knew I had issues with anxiety until I started having heart palpitations, anyone else have a similar experience?

It's more a matter of which came first, the heart palps or the anxiety.
We can be anxious without realizing the impact in can make on our body.
Anxiety can start with a thought or a physical symptom.
Confusing?? You're not alone new friend.. I'm glad you are here with us. xx
I have them quite a bit and they seem to come in cycles, especially during high stress times. Several years ago my VA Dr sent me to Cardiologists, ran EKGs multiple times, Cat Scan and finally a Sonogram. Everything turned out well. I told him right up front that I have anxiety issues, but he didn’t want to hear it. Try to refocus and Breathe in and out slowly. I have found self talk a very big benefit in dealing with it.
Thanks for the info. Not counting the small here and there palpitations. I’ve had 3 episodes where the palpitations occur more frequently and strong. Once they start like that I get scared and cannot function properly until I get checked out which is a visit to the er. My health anxiety gets so worked up, my left hand and head will start tingling. It’s like if I think of symptom of a heart attack, they will occur. I lose control of my body until I get check out. It’s amazing how much a thought will affect the rest of your body.
