I received an email yesterday from Which, I get their scam reports, DPD was one of the scams they warned about.
Hi Hidden,
Thanks for your heads up. I got an email from Dpd. They said I wasn't in so couldn't deliver my parcel, wanted payment for "shipping." The email was addressed to my email address not my name. Sure sign of a fake email. Yes, this is a phishing technique. Lots of scams in this pandemic.
I don’t click on any email links I don’t know. Even some that I do because I have seen some good spoofs. Instead go to the website independently —-either google it or use the link you normally use. No company you do business should be asking for information like that.
There are other tips too. Check that the email is the right domain. Check for spelling. I have seen Amazon spoofs where everything looked right except they closed it with some stupid phrases like cheers and a name. Amazon doesn’t do that.
Also any account you have should have multi authentication and unique passwords. This will save you if you are fooled by a phish. Now that they know you are real and might click they will keep trying.
