A while back I was diagnosed with bipolar and depression and also put on medication for it, but I stopped taking it because it causes you to lose weight and I want to gain weight...
I made this post to ask: when you feel at your lowest and ready to just give up on life, what do you do to keep your spirits going? Any suggestions?
So far I’ve deactivated all of my social media accounts so that’s a start.. but what do you guys do? Because no matter how hard I try, I always find myself back in this dark place I feel like I can’t escape and I’m losing the battle..

Sorry you are going through this ☹️ I also have been really struggling this past couple of weeks. I try to read books about CBT but it’s difficult to concentrate when your mind is full of negative thoughts. I am trying to take time to sit and accept I’m feeling low just now, I am so grateful for all I have but it just doesn’t help me. Know that you have come through these trying times before and will again. X
When the mind is racing it can definitely be tough. It’s like no matter what I do 😕 i know I’ve been through worse and I’ve gotten through it and so will you, this too shall pass. We got this! 🤍
Wikipedia says the benefits of this drug doesn't outweigh the benefits I find wikipedia very good on drugs My husband is on abilify which is much better than olanzapine which he was on for years, the thing is you want a drug that helps during the times when you aren't manic which is most of the time
My sister also had bipolar disorder and hers was caused by hormones are you on the contraceptive pill? If you do ever go on it you should have a progesterone based one , progesterone is a natural anti psychotic and oestrogen is excititory and can cause mania if you don't have progesterone alongside it to moderate it
I have heard Lamotrigine is quite a good bipolar disorder drug - good for preventing depression
If you aren't doing well on your medication tell your doctor
Listen to some uplifting music!!!! I don't know what kind of music you like, but listen to something that makes you feel better and doesn't bring you down. Two songs I really like a lot are Perfect by Pink and Bluebird by Miranda Lambert.
