every day is the same

why does the same day just like keep hitting me over and over again? i wake up tired, then go downstairs either to silence or to one of my parents yelling at my brother. some days they'll even yell at me. right after i wake up. it's not a great way to start a morning trust me. then i have school which is fucking boring because it's online and there's nothing to do and after school pure work. i work until maybe dinner and then eat. then the disassociation kicks in and i cry before i sleep and when i wake up it just repeats. god i just want to escape.

like, you just wanna get ouuuuuut

I feel your pain. I feel very trapped also because I could be somewhere else during this time of the year. First is summer vacation got canceled and now is gloom doom December can’t go nowhere Again. Where can you get away at this time right?!!! I just invest in the best headphone with my music, my books, pick and choose what/who to engage with. Some time no news is good news? Keeping things steady is considered a blessing for me now. I understand that It requires a lot of strength to be happy alone but know that you are not lonely because we have each other here in HU 🤗 xox

I know it's hard and this is gonna sound cliche but we gotta make the best with what we have. I do a zoom call with my friends on the weekends. I get feeling terrible during this time the issue for me is boredom, when I get bored my addiction has the opportunity to kick in, and when it does I get mad at myself for giving in. That cycle is not good at all so one thing I do is write to-do lists and set alarms/reminders to do stuff. For example, I am on winter break with nothing to do so on my to-do list I might put stuff that I can do when I have nothing to do like color or draw. perhaps you might try bundling up and going on a nice long walk and take pictures of things along the way; things that make you smile, things that make you frown, etc. Another thing you can do is the 5-4-3-2-1 "game" (it's a little coping technique)

5: Acknowledge FIVE things you see around you. It could be a pen, a spot on the ceiling, anything in your surroundings.

4: Acknowledge FOUR things you can touch around you. It could be your hair, a pillow, or the ground under your feet.

3: Acknowledge THREE things you hear. This could be any external sound. If you can hear your belly rumbling that counts! Focus on things you can hear outside of your body.

2: Acknowledge TWO things you can smell. Maybe you are in your office and smell a pencil, or maybe you are in your bedroom and smell a pillow. If you need to take a brief walk to find a scent you could smell soap in your bathroom, or nature outside.

1: Acknowledge ONE thing you can taste. What does the inside of your mouth taste like—gum, coffee, or the sandwich from lunch?

The times are hard but we are strong, we will prove it and push thru. We shall win you'll see.

I've never heard of the 54321 method but I will be sure to try it - you're a goddess! Love, lange

I like to call that auto-pilot. If corona virus werent happening I would be getting out and doing stuff which is usualy how I handle depression but these days that's impossible. To make things easier on myself I gave up on the idea of being fully productive while the epidmic is going on. All I can say to you is what I say to myself: it is absolute fact that this pandemic will end, that there is a better tommarow. It won't literaly be tommarow but it will come.
