Hi this is my first ever post but I’ve been having a rough time lately.
I have gotten really bad health anxiety recently with the whole Covid situation and a lot of my anxiety has been portrayed into physical symptoms- like shortness of breath, heart palpitations, and extreme nausea.
What really sucks is that I know that it is caused by my anxiety but the thoughts of “oh I’m super sick” just push everything aside.
My family and my boyfriend try to help me but sometimes they don’t understand even if they are trying really hard to help me.
I just hope that this can become a space where I can let my anxious feelings out and help other people with their feelings.

I also get the physical symptoms of anxiety. I throw up when I'm having a lot of anxiety. I get the heart palpitations during panic attacks. And the physical symptoms are somewhat new, so probably Covid didn't help. You are in the right place. It's hard for people that don't experience these feelings to know what to say or how to help. They want to, they just don't how.
I don't think I've ever really felt "out of body" but I have questioned my control over my body. If that makes sense. I'll be fine one minute, doing something mundane, like blow drying my hair, and I feel like I can't stand up anymore. I feel like all my energy is being drained trying to hold the blow dryer. Honestly, it makes me want to just break down and cry.
I have felt out of my body during a panic attack! It’s actually our bodies way of protecting us. But yes it is a scary feeling. It’s called derealization or depersonalization
hey, welcome to the community. everyone here is super supportive and willing to help you with whatever you're going through. i know that the physical symptoms of panic attacks are really frightening from personal experiences, and I'm sorry that that's happened to you. some things to prevent this are breathing techniques and meditation. if you suffer from sleep paralysis as well these techniques can help to prevent it. feel free to reach out to me or make another post when you want to talk. stay safe 🖤
Hello. I also started having severe health anxiety because of the pandemic. I have it daily. It affects my daily life so much. I hope this helps, knowing there are others out there going through the same thing
It really helps so much. And I hope that by sharing my experiences I will be able to help other people know that they are not alone and that we can help each other get through the tough times
I have gotten very very bad health anxiety too since July. Covid didn’t really scare me until summertime. I guess because more people were out and it was easier to catch. My anxiety has portrayed into physical symptoms as well. I ended up in the ER for shortness of breath but everything was normal and it ended up being just my anxiety. Even after hearing everything was normal I still didn’t believe it because the feeling wouldn’t go away! Usually after I’m reassured and checked then I’m fine! But anxiety likes playing tricks on me 🙄
You can always let your anxious feelings out and help others as well! It’s needed
