I’ve been feeling terrible, without purpose or meaning, utterly lost& confused, like I’m dying and increasingly so for a long time now. Does anyone know what would help?

If you’re a part of any religion, that could definitely help with knowing/finding your purpose. And if that’s not for you, no hard feelings (: it’s not for everyone. I thought I’d at least throw it out there.

Other things that come to mind right now are family, career, hobbies, serving the community, and just being a good person and helping others.

One of the best ways I have found to feel good in a very healthy way, is to help somebody feel what I desperately want (as long as it’s something healthy and good). For example: When I want to feel loved, helping others feel loved helps me feel loved too. It’s meaningful to them, and that makes it meaningful for the giver. Seeing the hope and joy I help someone to feel just makes my insides warm up and next thing I know I’m feeling good again! (:

When I feel lost, helping people somehow helps me feel found. When I feel without a purpose, helping people gives me a wonderful sense of purpose. Helping people provides me find clarity.

Give it a try! Helping people is such a great way to feel good (:

I hope something in here helps!

I wish you the best! (:

Thank you... do you know of any ways of helping people online or more remotely, if you know what I mean?

Yeah, I actually joined this website to help people. You could try finding people who need help here, and respond to their needs like I responded to yours. If you have friends or other people you can text or email or anything like that, that can work too. Just find any kind of method to reach out to people and try to help (:

Couple of ideas... you can volunteer to chat with an elderly lonely person once per week, there are charities for that. You can also volunteer as a listener on 7 Cups (website) where people go to vent etc.

My counselor recommended to me finding a purpose or goal you value and figuring out how you can take any action on it in our current environment. There are 2 free online courses called “the science of well- being” and “finding purpose and meaning in life” on Coursera that I started and have found very helpful on my journey so far.

Dont look to the outside world for purpose,, look deep with in. If you suffer from mental health issues. You are a survivor. Therefore you are also a healer. Help the hurting.

No help when in need!

Why does it happen that I’m always there for everyone and there is no one when I’m in need?
