Like one minute you're fine then the next you feel like crying.

Yes indeed I do Spiderman. Something just walking across the room is all it takes. I sometimes look back in search of the person I was on the other side of the room. Weird!

I have never thought of that!

Absolutely sometimes it could be 45 seconds of an old song etc to flip the switch. Depression makes no sense just keep trying and hold on till it lightens

Thank you.

Yes! It is exhausting and not fun! Pittiedad's analogy of a light switch being flipped is exactly how it feels.

That happens to me too. I notice it happens most when I'm either visiting with my family or when I'm out in a public place. I'll be fine but then all of a sudden I want to be alone and I lose interest in what I was doing. I don't know if all of a sudden our brain chemicals fluctuate and it gives us that depressed feeling or what, but it is strange and I hate when it happens because then I feel like I'm a kill joy to those around me.

Yes, it's annoying.

Yes! This happens to me very often! Something small usually triggers my emotions, and I go from being happy one minute to crying the next. I think the best thing to do in these situations is to try to understand what triggers it, and instead of getting worked up, try to find a way to make it better. It's totally understandable to react the way we do to things. But looking for the bright side of those seemingly dark things is the best thing we can do for ourselves.

Feel free to reach out if you ever need anything btw! And welcome to this forum as well!

I notice my mood goes down drastically if I start getting hungry or tired. Kind of a joke in my house but it really brings on a swing.

Yes. So much. I have no solution for it. I either just let it pass, or I cry, or I sleep. I find it happens most often in times of excess hormones or high emotions. I also discovered that it happens less since I stopped watching the news and going on social media.

That's true. It usually happens to me when I'm extremely tired.

If often find it associated with a feeling of defeat. When I’m just done with all the garbage and my body decides to let me know.

That's true too. I am trying to change my mindset.
