Guys my doctor wants me to try buspar I have terrible anxiety. Anyone that takes this does it help?

Sierramist, Buspar is a good medication. Unfortunately, meds are just a trial and error thing since we all react differently. The fact that your doctor feels it may be a could fit for you, you might want to give it a try. It could just be what turns around that terrible anxiety for you Good Luck, keep us updated xx

Buspar was the first medication I took, once I sought help. I had no side effects. That was in the late 1980's so it is hard to remember if I got relief. My gut tells me I did get some relief. My situation was such that once I allowed myself to admit I needed help, all of the other things I was dealing with just came roaring up so loudly I could not ignore them. I required much more that the Buspar .

I would encourage you to trust your doctor, if deserved, and continue doing whatever you need to do to help yourself. My journey was painful and at times still is but I am so glad I did. My hurts and sadness today do not compare to the overwhelming experiences I had lived through and was allowing myself to be subjected to.

Consider yourself the most valuable, expensive, worthwhile investment you ever under take cause YOU ARE WORTH IT.

I have taken it and it does help it knocks the edge off and it’s tolerable. It does put a dampener on your sex life.

I take it. At first it made me sleepy but I’ve been taking it for over a year now and it helps take the edge off without feeling “drugged”. I do need to take it on a full stomach though, otherwise it will make me feel a bit shaky.
