My Experiences with Prozac

I have taken Prozac for about 30 years now...when I first started taking it, I was started at the 20mg dosage. At that time, I was about 22 years of age and it was the right dosage for me. I was going through a difficult time in my life..I had flunked out of college and I knew that "something" wasn't right within me. I had seen one of my doctor's (a specialist) and this was a new doctor for me. He examined me and did all of the initial "physician stuff". At the end of the exam, he put me on Prozac...I was going through depression (after flunking out of college). And, the Prozac along with seeing a therapist helped me to come out of shell. Over the years, due to "life experiences", I was bumped up to 30mg and then 40mg of the Prozac along with some other medications as well to help with the depression. Honestly, I can say that for me, the Prozac 20mg, has been a great benefit for me.

I’m also on Prozac 40mg. But I haven’t noticed that much of a difference. I also take 1 mg of Xanax Xr for my anxiety. I think most of my problems stem from the fact that I don’t sleep well and it just makes my day so much harder. This has been going on for quite a while. I’m tired of going on just hoping things will get better.
