Back to work after 1 week off

Ok... so I took a week off work for my mental healths sake. But of coarse I didn’t mention that to management. After day 3 of calling out per HR I needed to get a Medical note from my Dr. so I called her up and said after day 3 I still didn’t feel ready to go back. So she excused me to return back today 9/7/20. It’s 4:15 AM PST. I fell asleep around 11PM 😣 woke up at 3AM. I’m filled with Anxiety . Ohhh you know the thoughts: everyone is going to ask “why you were out”, “what happened?” “Are you ok?” Or other negative scenarios I think will happen: Team will be rude, I’ll be ignored, silent treatment... *sigh* fact is I’m burned out! We are very very short staffed mainly because of Covid and child care situations. We just don’t have the back up coverage when one or especially do call out sick. So we ALL get burdened with getting extra duties. I just personally feel I expected to cover more then my fellow team members. I’m not sure why. I thought I was just being my normal negative self or drama queen but I’ve had several team members notice and say they do notice I get asked to do more then others. There are other team members who have been there longer than I I been here since 10/2017. My bigggeeesssstttt fear today is that man agent will ask me to cover a team member who will be out for the next 2-3 weeks! They don’t care that I have my backed up duties already and I Morning so worked up with my anxiety I just feel like I’m going in snippy with a bad negative attitude and when I’m approached by managers today I will snap verbally and just get into trouble. Please any helpful communication tips and good vibes wanted!!!

Could you actually tell them that you and infact some others have noticed that you seem to get more work piled onto you than others? Sometimes at my workplace we find that if you don't stand your ground and tell them that they are pushing unfair amounts of work your way then it just continues, try and be calm and ask for a private word and put your point across, tell them your more than capable of doing your fare share but that the extra work load should be shared out equally to reduce stress levels for everyone, I always find its not what you say....its how you say it that gets results xx

Good advice from Suzie. I will also add that if your colleagues ask why were off I would just say I'm a lot better thank you and smile. If no one asks it's likely they don't want to intrude or make you upset, not because they are ignoring you.
